David Lloyd Davis, a dynamic and results-oriented Community Development Executive, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and spent the first 29 years of his life in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, before making Atlanta, Georgia, his home in 1995. His journey in community development began with a pivotal role as an event guide for the 1996 Olympics, setting the stage for a remarkable career.

Currently serving as a Lecturer on Sustainable Communities at the Georgia Tech Center for Sustainable Communities Research and Education and the Morehouse School of Medicine Center of Excellence of Climate and Environmental Health, David brings a wealth of experience to the table.

As the Executive Director of Cascade Springs Nature Conservancy since 2019, David has demonstrated outstanding leadership. Under his guidance, the organization has flourished, securing significant funding and engaging the community in vital conservation efforts. His commitment is evident in a multitude of projects, from the Eagle Scout Outdoor Classrooms to the Cascade Falls Trail and Overlook Green Transportation Initiative.

Concurant with his role at the Cascade Springs Nature Conservancy, David served as the Atlanta City Council Aide – Director of Community Development for Councilmember Marci Collier Overstreet. During this time, he played a crucial role in shaping policies, managing projects like the West Cascade Park Development, and fostering community engagement through initiatives like the AeroATL Greenway Concept Development.

David’s expertise extends to his role as the Owner/Spatial Analytics and Strategic Planning Consultant at New Urban Analytics, LLC. His impactful contributions include conducting site selection analysis for affordable housing development and spearheading strategic community investment research and analysis.

His dedication to community development is also evident in his previous roles, including Senior Project Manager for Greenspace Acquisition and Development at the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation and Project Scientist – Water Resources Planning Program Manager at Black & Veatch.

David Lloyd Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, reflecting his academic foundation for the remarkable career he has built in community development, GIS, and urban planning.
