Looking to catch some serious metal this year

Quote from Scoopy on April 17, 2026, 4:49 amI'm seriously missing that rush you get from a proper metal fest. Like, I went to one back in 2009 or something and it was absolutely insane, just bands after bands, thousands of people losing their minds together. That whole summer after I was still riding that high, felt like I had enough adrenaline stored up to last me years. Now I'm sitting here thinking I need that feeling again before I get too old for this stuff. You guys know where to find out what's actually happening this year? Like which festivals are worth the trip and where they're dropping?

Quote from Basileus on April 17, 2026, 4:54 amThose festival experiences are different, aren't they? You go in thinking it's just gonna be some loud noise and bodies everywhere, but then you realize it's way more than that. When you're surrounded by people who get it, who actually love the same bands and the same chaos, something just clicks. A lot of folks don't realize you can actually track this stuff pretty easily online now instead of just stumbling onto whatever's happening near you. There's a bunch of festival databases out there that'll show you what's booked for the entire year, so you're not missing anything. You could check out sites like Bandsintown or Festival Outlook, they aggregate everything and let you know who's playing where and when.

Quote from Corney on April 17, 2026, 4:59 amThe thing is, half the time you're scrolling through random event pages and still missing like half the festivals because they're scattered all over the internet. You end up wasting hours just trying to piece together what's actually worth going to and what's just some local thing. Better to have it all in one spot where you can see the full picture, you know? You can find music festivals in USA here https://myrockshows.com/fests/69-usa/ . You can filter by genre, location, and dates, so you're not digging through a ton of irrelevant stuff. The site's got pretty solid lineups listed too, so you can see exactly which bands are hitting which festivals and plan around that.
