My Land Cruiser started acting up, pretty sure it’s an ECU issue

So this started about two weeks ago, I’ll be driving my 2016 Land Cruiser and suddenly it feels like it loses power for a split second, the revs dip, then it catches itself and carries on like nothing happened. At first I thought maybe bad fuel but I’ve switched stations and the problem is still there, no check engine light yet which is driving me crazy because it makes it so hard to diagnose. I took it to a general garage and they hooked up a scanner but said nothing came up and basically shrugged at me, but I know something is off. A buddy of mine who used to be a mechanic said it sounds like the ECU might be starting to fail or maybe a sensor is sending intermittent signals and confusing the system, he mentioned that sometimes these things don’t throw a code until they completely go. I’ve been looking around for somewhere that actually has the equipment to properly test the computer instead of just guessing and swapping parts, I came across a place offering toyota ecu repair services in abu dhabi and it got me wondering if it’s worth going to a specialist who can actually open up the unit and test the components rather than just replacing it blindly. Has anyone here dealt with something similar on a Toyota, and did you end up repairing the ECU or just swapping it out? Trying to figure out the smartest move without getting taken for a ride.
