2015 Pajero starting to hesitate between gears, feeling a bit worried

So my Pajero's been with me for almost eight years now and honestly it's been rock solid the whole time, just regular maintenance and it never skipped a beat. But over the last couple weeks I've noticed it feels a bit sluggish when shifting from second to third, almost like it's hesitating for a second before catching. It's not slipping or anything dramatic, just a weird pause that wasn't there before. I took it to one shop and they said maybe just a fluid change would sort it out, but another place mentioned it could be early signs of something more serious with the valve body. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out who to trust because I really don't want to throw money at a fluid change if the transmission needs proper attention, but I also don't want to get convinced into a full rebuild if it's not necessary yet. Been trying to find a specialist that actually knows these Japanese transmissions inside out for gearbox repair abu dhabi because I feel like general mechanics might just guess their way through it. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue on the Pajero? Did the fluid change actually help or was it just delaying the inevitable?
